CHOIR FINAL - 2009

Watching the students sing remind me of my younger days but anyway let me get back to the point.

Some of you must be wondering why the students are showing off their medals at the foyer.

As most working parents are not aware that SMKSM made her way to be in one of the 5 schools who make it to the final. They really work hard, I have been seeing them practising for this event.

Yes, they should be proud they made it to the 2nd place.

Today, these few students have not only made their parents proud.

They have made the Pengetua, teachers and their friends proud too.

Some of the Form 1 students came forward to me to find out what is happening and when I told them of the news, they also jump up with joy. They even request me to help them find out as to how to join the Choir.

Confirmation from the Headmistress Pn Halimah, the school choir actually did it on their own with only a school teacher guiding them. There is NO, I said NO tutor outside training them.

Furthermore, when we look at other school most of them have about 35 students but ours is below 30.

I dare say, and am very extremely sure that Pn Halimah and all school teachers including all students are proud of you.

Hei, you guys really made the school PROUD.

Keep your spirit ongoing. The young ones are looking up at you!!!!!!!!!!

28 April 2009 Primary School Choir Competition

Bravo, this year again SMK Seri Mutiara is the host for choir as I mentioned earlier. The chairperson is no other then our Pengetua; Pn Hjh. Halimah bt Haron and the Vice is our charming always smiling En Abdul Aziz bin Md Hashim.

There are about 18 schools primary school taking part in this competition today. Off course, I saw many proud parents too supporting their child. I was informed by some proud parents (primary school) yesterday to watch the event and as well as to give some support for their child, so not to disappoint the child I did again. (Hahaha, being nosey again).

Frankly, speaking I realise that some students approached their former teacher shaking hands and hugging the teachers too.

I should say the school (SMKSM) should feel proud and satisfied today was that our afternoon session students behave very well and was showing good example to the primary students.

"thump up" and "keep up" the image of the school.

Tomorrow, about 23 secondary will compete with one another.

CHOIR 2009

Time has come for another year of Choir. Look at SMKSM students preparing for the choir competition to be held on 28th April and 29 April 2009.
What I admire most is their keeness in taking part in the competition. Yes, though everyone wants to win but there are only few prizes!!!!
To me, winning is not so much important (though it is good) but it is their EFFORT that I admire MOST.
Keep up girls and boys.

Beware of kidnap-ransom scam calls, says Chong

This is an article from the Star today. Sad to say, that there are so many cheaters around.

My personal advise to parents:

1. please do not send your child to school too early.
2. please advise your child to stay within the school compound when they are in school.
3. please pick up your child at the appropriate time. please do not let them wait too long hours
in school. Sometimes, I notices that some children had to wait for hours for their parents to
pick them up in school.
4. pick up the phone and call the school if you happen to receive such call.

Beware of kidnap-ransom scam calls, says Chong

KUALA LUMPUR: If someone calls you claiming your child has been kidnapped and demanding a ransom, you may want to check on your child’s whereabouts first.

According to MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Michael Chong, a syndicate has been attempting to trick parents into paying a ransom when the child was actually safe.

Chong said his department had received reports of several such cases, and urged the public to be on the alert.

“One case involved a lady who was told to pay a ransom for her son’s release. The syndicate even played her a child’s voice (over the phone) asking her for help,” he said.

Chong said the syndicate had threatened to kill her son if she lodged a police report.

“However, the lady, feeling something was amiss, went to the school and found out that her son was safe,” he said, adding that the woman lodged a police report at the Kelana Jaya police station.

Chong added that parents should have their children’s school phone numbers so they could call to check on their whereabouts if they received such calls.

Annual General Meeting - PIBG

Early April after the "anugerah cemerlang" with an interval of 15 to 20 minutes, the PIBG annual general meeting (AGM) was held.

All went very well and smooth. There were number of discussions made and answers to those queries too.

Sorry, I am not disclosing any of the discussion made.

Anyway, without further delay a new committee members of the PIBG was elected.
I personally, thank Mr Stewart for his advise rendered when I was with him.
I am sure that many of us agree with me that Mr Stewart has been very thoughtful, helpful and has did his upmost best for the benefit of our children and the school. I salute to you Mr Stewart (hope you read my blog). Your patience and tolerance is what we have to learn from you.

Thanks again Mr Stewart for your contribution.
